The City of Woburn, MA, Public Schools is advertising for an
Educational Technology Director. This is a new postion. Written
letters of application, along with transcripts, certification, and
three letters of recommendation will be received at the office of
Superintendent Carl R. Batchelder, Woburn Public Schools
Administration Building, 55 Locust St., Woburn, MA 01801, until 4:00
P.M. on 14 June 1996. Questions may be directed to Dr. Louise Mary
Nolan, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, e-mail
LMN7414@aol.com. The Director of Educational Technolgy would report
to Dr. Nolan. Salary is to be negotiated in a range between $50,000
and $55,000. The work year shall consist of 220 days.

Qualifications are: demonstrated successful teaching experience;
successful teaching experience in helping students learn with
technology; technical expertise in using Apple II, Macintosh, IBM, and
IBM compatible systems; knowledge of library science and program
development in technology education; Massachusetts certification in an
area of specialization and in technology education. Any of the above
qualifications may be waived at the discretion of the Superintendent

The school system is in the late stages of developing a technology
plan, per the Education Reform Act. One of the responsibilities of
the Technology Director would be to assist in the development,
implementation, and monitoring of the district wide technology plan.

Woburn is a city of about 30,000 people located 12 miles west of
Boston. There are 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools (6-8), and
one high school with about 1100 students.
