I don't know that this is at all relevant, but I'm curious as to how much
RAM (memory) your 575 has? Also, what Mac OS version are you using?
I ask because any of the Netscape 2 versions require lots more memory than
the 1.1N did, and Mac OS 7.5.3 requires more memory than the older
versions, and the addition adds up to more than 8 megabytes of memory even
if nothing but OS and Netscape 2.x are running. This obviously causes
problems, but whether they include error -39, I don't know. I'm upgrading
all our 8-megs-of-RAM machines to 16 megs in the fall (I've already ordered
the SIMMs because memory's so cheap at the moment). We weren't able to
upgrade to Netscape 2.anything last year because of the memory
requirements, especially after I upgraded Mac OS to 7.5.3.
I'll be interested to read the responses re. the error message.
