I agree, Brad! At Peotone High School, we have done both. We have
PowerMacintosh computers on all teachers' and administrators' desks, a
mini-lab in the Library, a 20-station Mac lab and a 20-station PC/Windows
lab.
The classroom computers are used during the first 30-45 seconds of the
class period to electronically record attendance, then are freed up to be
used as the teacher sees fit as learning resources. During their planning
period, teachers may use their computer to track student grades, enter
grades into the school's central database at the end of grading terms, and
search online resources (including direct access to e-mail and the WWW) for
additional resources.
