The best way I've found to install new software on Macs, three types of
Power Mac and one plain Mac, is to turn off any virus and security programs
and then restart with extensions turned off (shift, apple, restart, I
think). The thing is, most installation instructions I've seen tell you to
do this anyway - the virus and extensions-off part at least.
