LOGO is a great language to teach programming. I have seen a piece
of software that works great too. It is called "The Lost Mind of Dr.
Brain". It makes the user think. You have to save Dr. Brain and to
do so you must solve puzzles and go to Dreamland. I have not seen
Dreamland yet but I have taught a boy and you could just see him
thinking like a programmer. He has gone on to take a course in
Visual Basic. This piece of software is sold in lab packs and with
ideas on how to teach it.
