I don't feel you can really have one without the other. They should both
go hand in hand, feeding off of each other. Our state is looking at ways
to REQUIRE that schools keep student records in electronic format to
facilitate record transfers between schools. They are currently working on
a standardized format. This will push teachers even more rapidly into the
area of comnputer use. We seem to be one of the last hold outs for
automation, the business world is far ahead of us.
