C++ is but one implementation of OOP. I think that OOP would be quite
appropriate as an intro to programming. In fact, for many it's a far more
natural and intuitive way to think than procedural languages require. The
key is to have the proper tool (language) for learning and practicing OO
concepts so that one doesn't get bogged down in syntactical details.
That's why I'm so big on visual programming.
