Does anyone have any comments, opinions, etc. about Governor Pataki's
New York Wired plan? Is it really a good deal to spend $500 to wire up
to 6 classrooms for Internet access? We are a K-8 school of 200+ students,
and I'll count myself lucky if I can convince someone to put a phone outlet
in my library. We are so far away from any major schoolwide technology
upgrade that I question the wisdom of doing all the work involved for
NYWired. It sounds to me as if it might be just a major photo op for the
governor. Am I a cynical native New Yorker or what?
