Music Software/Hardware

I am an elementary media specialist who is trying very hard to spend
my Georgia Lottery technology dollars wisely. The new music teacher
who has been hired is comfortable with "Cakewalk" on a Windows
machine. He has many files in this format on his personal machine. Our
school is committed to the Macintosh platform and I wondered if any of
you can assure me that a Mac with a DOS card will smoothly run
Cakewalk or if there is comparable Mac software that will read his
files. We're concerned about the DOS card and midi AV output.
We're set up with a Macintosh Yahama MIE keyboard Lab, a schoolwide
Ethernet network full of network versions of Mac Software. He's an
enthusiastic teacher and techy and I really want to support him. Your
opinion please--do I buy him a Windows machine and Cakewalk or is
there something out there that will fit in with our existing tech
plan?
Thanks so much! I would also like to correspond with anyone else who
got a Cisco grant. I have so much to learn!
