Netscape unexpectedly quits

I have been having a problem that is becoming more frequent - my Netscape
unexpectedly quits because of an error of Type 1 has occurred. Is this a
software problem? Is there any other way to fix this other than trashing my
Netscape and reinstalling it. I have Netscape 2.02.
