Surplus Software primarily sells outdated versions of software at very cheap
prices, plus some cheap (discontinued or surplus) hardware. If you need
older versions, it's a good place to call. Not to mention that sometimes
buying an older version for very little $20-$40, say, makes you eligible for
a cheap upgrade to the current version. They're at 800-753-7877 and on the
web at http://www.surplusdirect.com. They also have current software at
academic prices, for which schools and teachers are eligible...

If you're looking for old hardware, there are also a number of good
resources around...I recently added a hard drive to someone's Tandy 1000
with a kit that came with an IDE card with power connector and BIOS (the
T1000 only had power enough for a couple of floppies) and custom-cut Velcro
to attach the drive in the only place it would fit...
