The tiny print on the spec sheets that come with the equipment gives the
manufacturer's tested operating climate ranges - as I recall, supposedly
about 50 - 90 degrees F.

In my experience in hot and humid Baltimore, Maryland USA, at about 85
degrees F. and same % humidity, strange things begin to happen; likewise
below 70 oF. Speed of operations becomes erratic, and some things that
are on the edge of breakdown do over the edge. Magic though they may
seem, these machines are only metal and plastic - and both are subject to
the laws of physics, things like expansion and contraction in temperature
change. A minute change in physical size makes a huge difference in
computing reliability.
