Tony, Been there, done that, (But on an all-Mac system). Mac system
software prior to 7.5.2 does not properly recognize volumns greater than 2
Gb. That new 2 Gb drive is probably like most 2 Gig drives and is actually
a few K larger than 2 gb. If this combo of 7.5.1 (or earlier) system
software and a 2+ Gb drive is the problem, there is a cure without having
to do a complete system update.
Go to http://www.support.apple.com/ and download the file "ZM NSI
1.5.1". (ZM = systems of all nations, NSI = Network System Installer).
Get the "Read Me" file too, it explains what you need for different
machines and networks. If you don't already have it, you'll also need to
download "Disk Copy" to make an installer disk.
Good luck.
