Now I've got another. Went back to the lab after their server ws up,
running, and connected to other computers. Nice way to handle the job in
general, but there is a row of macs where an error message came up saying
something to the effect that "there is an unrecoverable error on the
Install disc. Installation has been halted, but your original files are
okay." Tried Installing from 3 different sets of discs, but got the
same message each time. Went to another row and volia, everything went
smoothly.
Now I'm not just making any of this up to see who's the wisest among
you, or to see how many will respond to my distress. It's a real dilemma
and a real location. I plan to go back on Friday to see what else I can
do, and I need some advice from anyone who can help me solve this thing.
