Yes, I'm convinced that Netscape is the mother of all crashes...well, most
of them anyway. BUT, I've recently had great success with reducing such
crashes significantly. I doubled the RAM on my 45 - 6100/66 Power Macs from
the built-in 8mgb to 16mgb, turned off Virtual Memory, threw away Macbug,
dumped Conflict Catcher, burned Norton Utilities and MacTools, and used
Disk Doctor to even out a short leg on a lab table. I, like yourselves, had
been through it all!
Only time will tell whether the RAM upgrade was actually the answer but, if
you're running numerous computers you might try going to 16 or 24 mgb on
one or two to see what happens. Certainly, the price of RAM is better than
ever before, at least this week!
