Excellant info from Bruce, except that the battery is a 3.6 volt Lithium,
the size is 1/2 AA. I get them from Fry's, in California for $8.50, but
they should be available with anyone who handles/services Macintosh
computers.
The tip that I have to add is that the best tool for removing the battery
cover is a Bic pen cap. The pocket clip portion fits in the small cover
opening, and supplies the needed leverage to spread out the battery cover.
Without this tool, that cover is tough to get off. If you have not tried
it, you'll be amazed how well it works.
