I thought I would throw in my $0.02 regarding the PageMill discussion. We
just started up our school's web site at the end of the school year. I have
created the whole thing using PageMill's big brother, SiteMill. I really
like SiteMill within some constraints.

Good things:
1. SiteMill is identical to PageMill except it allows you to load a site,
verify, edit and update links within the site. To me, this is one of the
best features of SiteMill. I one has a site with more than one page, one can
easily move or rename a gif file, for example, and have all links to the file
be updated. Link errors can easily be found, and corrected using drag and
drop.

2. The ease with which one can create a page is amazing. It is almost
mindless in its ease - and quick. You can focus on the creative aspects of
web page design, and let PageMill (or SiteMill, they are the same from this
point of view) do the technical stuff.

Not so good things:
1. I have not experienced the crashes some folks report, but I have
occasionally had windows go weird until you close them and open again.

2. It does not support version 2 or 3 of HTML, so tables and that sort of
stuff is not supported. As many others have pointed out, though, a new
version which is expected soon, should take care of this.

Over all, I think PageMill/SiteMill is a good product with potential to be an
excellent product. (Even if I never use the page layout features, the
loading a site and checking and modifying links feature of SiteMill is worth
it alone).

BTW, feel free to check out our web site, which is still very much in its
infancy, but has a few cool features (I think, but I am biased). Look for
some real cool stuff in the fall when I turn some students, whom I know to be
very creative people, loose on our web site.
