Object-oriented program design research

Hi fellow EDTECHers,

I am starting a Ph.D. (having made a mid-life career change) - I now work as
a computing lecturer at the University of Western Sydney, Macarthur.
(Sydney Australia).

I am interested in looking at comparing how my Uni Students and other adult
learners (experienced programmers) master the concepts and process of
object-oriented design of computer programs.

I would like to use Bandler and Grinder's Neurolinguisitc Programming (NLP)
and Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences as the theoretical basis for
my work (A risky business, my colleagues tell me (with raised eyebrows) -
they say I will have trouble finding good references!).

I am looking for references to these two approaches. Any good starting
point will help, but if you know of any 'academic' papers, any particularly
good Journals or key books in these fields; any key people, organisations or
institutions, any applicable web sites, news groups or listservers I would
appreciate knowing about them.

If you also know of anything on the teaching and learning of programming,
program design the concepts of object-orientation that may be of use I would
also like to hear from you.

As I have done with other requests, I will collate and post a summary of the
replies I receive.
