** Yes, Paperport has a "highlight" pen and sticky notes functions built
in. You can scan, enlarge, read, correct / markup the document, then print
it out. You could also project the scanned document for class discussion of
style, tone, audience etc. while you make comments to the live document.
You can scan a whole class full of papers and stack them up, then move
through them one at a time writing your notes on them. You could cut and
paste the best examples from kids work to share with the class.

After this, you can create folders with each kid's name and store the
documents in their folder... a portfolio. You can title each scan and do a
search for a document title from the desktop and find a document within any
folder. Kids could open their portfolio and write reflectively about the
scanned document ON the document**
