PC on a Mac network

Our school has an existing Ethernet network running AppleShare on a Mac
server. A parent has donated a 386 PC that we would like to add to the
network to be used primarily for Email and some net surfing. We have
purchased an ethernet card for the PC, but are stumped as to where to find
the appropriate network software. Should we look to the PC card vendor or
would Apple have the right software?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
