I attended an Apple seminar that covered several topics..among them
service. There was a rep there that talked at about problems that plagued
certain versions of the 5200. He mentioned both of the problems above and
if I remember correctly the screen problem was a mystery yet and could be
the result of several problems...but he did say Apple was standing behind
thier product even if it was out of the warrenty period.
