Re: "Favorite Places" in AOL

I am using AOL right now for WWW browsing and have accumulated a long list of
bookmarks, which AOL calls "favorite places." I've successfully moved
bookmarks for our librarian from Netscape for editing and pasting but am
unable to get at the Favorite Places in AOL in editable form. I entered the
Live Chat with Tech Support on AOL and was told the file is AOL\ICB\main.idx.

It is not an ASCII file, however, and doesn't even seem to have the WWW
addresses in any usable form. I have not tried a HEX editor but was hoping to
avoid this as this means continual editing every time a new bookmark is
added.

AOL tells me you cannot edit this file. Has anyone ever gotten around this?
If not I think all members of the list ought to know about this if they're
planning to use AOL for WWW.

Thanks for any feedback.
