The ERIC Clearinghouse on Urban Education has created an Urban Education
Web Site (UEweb). It offers full-text manuals, digests, articles, parent
guides, short bibliographies, directories, and conference announcements.
It also has abstracts, or summaries, of the best urban education
publications in the ERIC database -- the largest educational database
in the world. UEweb contains over 1,000 full-text documents and has
sections that include:

Urban and Minority Families
School Reform
School Safety
Technology in Urban Education
Equity and Cultural Diversity
Urban Teachers
Curriculum and Instruction
Compensatory Education
Administration and Finance
Community Involvement
Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and more.

It also contains links to over 20 sites on urban education that have been
screened by staff for quality, depth, and user accessibility. It is a
great place to begin internet exploration on the topic.

The site is maintained by Denise Gretchen, who can be reached via e-mail
