Jim,

Considering the explosive growth of the online market in the past year, it
is no wonder that you're having a problem with one of the service providers.
I'm surprised this problem is not more widespread. It reminds me of the
time I had when trying to rid myself of an unwanted Readers' Digest book
subscription. I hadn't wanted it, didn't order it, etc., but they sent me
notices that "a collection agency would have to be contacted..." Yeah
right. One pointed letter to the appropriate address fixed that!
Whenever I have had concerns about billing from an online service, I call
them or e-mail directly. I have had a most positive experience with
CompuServe. Every time I have the least complaint, they credit me with free
time.

I strongly suggest that if phone calls and e-mail haven't worked, you use
the old fashioned way: send the buggers a registered letter, detailing your
problem.

Good luck!
