It has been a while since I've deleted words from an AppleWorks disk -
but I will give you the gist of it.

AT the Main Menu:
Add Files to the Desktop
Make a New File for the Word Processor
From Text (ASCII)
I think this brings up the catalog of your disk
and on it should be CUST.DICTIONARY - open that
It will bring up all the words that have been
to your dictionary (you may be surprised at how
many are there!).

Carefully delete every line with words you
want to remove. (I believe this is how you
can add words to the cust dict too)

WHen you are done - DON'T SAVE IT! - You have to PRINT it to your disk.
WHen you go to print one of the options should be to print as a
text/ascii file. It will ask you for the directory. (If you don't know
the name of your disk - go back to the main menu-options-list files on
disk and at the top it will tell you the name of your disk. I had to
type: /appleworks/cust.dictionary on my syste.

And it's that easy! Ha Ha!

Hope this helped!
