Computer Intro for 9 Year-Old

Not sure if this is the best place to ask this question, but here goes...

I'm looking for a good introduction to computers for a 9-year boy.
Definitely would like a book... also interested in any good
computer-based intros that may be out there. (Have been unable to
determine the specific type of computer... suspect it is a slightly older
DOS machine.)

Any recommendation will be appreciated. Thanks.
