De-Gauss VGA monitor

One of our 4th graders thought he should rub a magnet across the screen of the
VGA monitor he was using. The monitor now has that wierd rainbow effect
even though the magnet is LONG gone. Someone suggested that the monitor
needs to be De-Gaussed. Any suggestions as to how to go about this? Thanks
