You might also check the vendors of the software you are considering. May
vendors now do not mention that they can provide software in 5-1/4" format
because not many people ask for it any more. Any DOS program worth anything
will be availabe in 5-1/4" format. It might cost an extra dollar or two to
get the 5-1/4" disks but it might be worth it. Also, you might consider
buying one PC with both a 5-1/4" disk drive and a 3-1/2" disk drive. That
way you can transfer software yourself.
