In my humble opinion, the best panel you can afford is the one to get. I
came from the non-educational sector. I am presently a technology
coordinator for a small county in NC. I am constantly fighting the
perception that because you are a teacher you cannot expect the same
technology as business. Poppycock! When we buy PC's that are "within the
price range for us teachers" we ended up replacing them the next year. I
would much rather buy 10 computers that will last a few years than 15
computers that cannot or will not in the very near future run todays
software. Don't set your sites low. Keep them high. Students and teachers
deserve the same technology as anyone else. In addition, your industry
people in the community will not be very impressed with a technology plan
that includes buying outdated PC's and equipment just to save a buck. They
understand the concept of you get what you pay for and will be more willing
to help. That's my two cents worth. As the song says, that's my story and
I'm sticking to it (smile).
