Yeah Robin,
I am a computer consultant for 18 school districts. an I am happy to say
that I have at least three school districts that I have talked into this
plan. In both cases the school district "leased" the computers with a $1
buyout at the end of the lease. This took care of the legal eagles in our
state, check with your school lawyers for the specifics in your state. One
bonus was that the loans were interest free but all the money that the
school board put into this program came back so other than loss of the
interest, it didn't "cost" the school district a penny. Also it got
computers in the hands of teachers that would probably not have bought one
on thier own. This increased knowledge and some teachers even brought thier
computers inot the classroom for thier students to use. This was really a
win-win situation for everyone involved, I would highly recommend it to any
school district.
