I don't know which platform you work on. If it's either Mac or Windows,
haave you considered Adobe Pagemaker? For Mac, the 6.0 version not only
competes with Quarkpress, but includes facilities TMHO to translate
documents to the HTML-format and to create PDF-documents, a fantastic
standard to create, transmit and read documents.
