My suggestion would be to look at CE technologies 'Quickmail'
CE is also a member of the "Educate America " program. A school can
purchase QM from School Vision from Apple Corp for a very reasonalble
price....umm $97. for the initial set up and 10 user pack.
It will run in Mac/Dos/Win platforms. You can gateway to AOL, Internet,
etc.or use a bridge to cross platform.
