Hello EDTECH List Members,

I have been on the list for sometime and have communicated with a number of
individuals but I need now to make use of the full EDTECH membership to
request information/invitation in relation to the ACOT - Apple Classrooms
of Tommorrow project. I work in the area of elementary preservice
education at a small Australian university, primarily in maths education,
but I am currently focusing on developing my knowledge and skills in the
technology/computing area since our courses are sadly lacking in these
areas. During my professional development leave in 1996 I will be visiting
America and have already made some arrangements for specific visits to
institutions and schools. I have read a number of articles about the ACOT
project recently and have ordered materials to read further. I have not,
however, found an email contect for either the project leaders or involved
schools and I would appreciate such an address to allow me to make contact.
I would hope to visit to one of the ACOT schools. My schedule will involve
me in flying into LA in mid April and then on to Houston before departing
for England. Ideally a visit in California would be most suitable since my
flight arrangements can not be greatly varied.

I have hesitated to post a general ask on the EDTECH list but I would also
be interested in visiting a Californian College (I hope this is the correct
term) with a strong program in computer/technology education in elementary
preservice education. My focus is on both the delivery of the program,
where technology is incorporated into this delivery, and on the program
itself. I am particularly concerned to view programs which assist
preservice students/teachers to develop the skills of using computers (and
other technology) in classrooms to promote student learning in an
integrative way.
