Unfortunately system 7.5.2 uses something called "Open Transport"
instead of MACTcp which they included in System 7.5 and 7.5.1
MacPPP software will not operate on top of Open Transport.
Apple did not advertise that they were making this operating system
change. In order for MacPPP to operate it must have MACTcp
underneath it in the operating system (and you can't substitute one
for the other). Unfortunately we've run into this with
several trainees in our Internet classes at Argonne).
You need the info required to have the IP/TCP stack do the work
of both MACTcp and MacPPP under older operating system versions.
In fact, you'll see many of the MAC software sites on the Internet now
posting notes that the software is not Open Transport compliant. Contact
Apple for more info on Open Transport.

Open Transport is on machines with 7.5.2 in the 7900, 8000, & 9000
Mac Series.
