The Gopher site maintained by the Association for Educational
Communications and Technology (AECT) tries to maintain listings of
conferences related to educational technology. The URL for the AECT
Gopher is gopher://sunbird.usd.edu:72/1. Once there, conference
announcements are found in three places:
Under Conferences/Meetings on the main menu, you'll find info about
AECT conferences. The 1996 AECT national convention is coming up
February 14-18 in Indianapolis and should be terrific. The Gopher
contains detailed information about the convention, including the
complete daily program listings.
Under Announcements/Calls for Papers, then Announcements, then
Professional Conferences, you'll find announcements for conferences
sponsored by organizations other than AECT. Right now only three
other conferences are listed, but this directory normally has more.
Under Announcements/Calls for Papers, then Calls for Papers, then
Conferences, you'll find (guess what...) calls for papers for
conferences related to educational technology. Right now five
different conferences are listed. If you want to present a paper at
a conference, this is a great place to find deadlines and submission
information. Even if you just want to attend, you can get advance
information about upcoming conferences, including contact info.
