Win '95 is working flawlessly on my computers. Yes, I had problems too.
The problems are the drivers. If your CD driver is not updated for Win
'95, it will not work!!! Make sure all your drivers support Win '95. At
this time, mostly all companies have upgraded their drivers.
Where can you obtain them? If you have Internet access, it is free. Just
download them. I do it all the time. I suggest a graphical Internet
account (PPP or SLIP) than a text (Unix account) because of the ease.
All companies have bulletin boards for downloading as well. However,
that means a toll call usually. I might add that I just downloaded a
$500.00 software program for free to create web pages.
My school is K-8. It has brand new Macs in K-1 and will have all Compaqs
in 2-8. We will be using fiber optic networking with Windows NT.
Windows NT is compatible with both Mac and IBM format. The Win '95
interface will be on all the Compaqs. And yes... it works well. It has
been used at a few schools already without any problems.
Do not give up on Win '95. Yes, it was stolen from the Mac but I
feel it is a superior product at this time. I use both and made some
serious comparisons with Win '95 at the top. The program works... The
old drivers do not...
