5200/75 LC Networking slowdown

I have experienced both slowdowns and freezes of my 5200's at my school.
Anytime something is plugged into the printer port, the computer slows
extremely or freezes. As soon as the cable is unplugged from the printer port,
the computer resumes as if nothing happened. Any thoughts?

We are also using At Ease 3.0 with a combination of 5200s, 660AVs, LC 575s, and
LCs. I never have problems updating the other computers, but the 5200s slowdown
a lot. Also, the will not update themselves on the network. In order to update
ALL of the computers at once, I must have one of the 5200s as the master
computer. Again, any thoughts?

Apple doesn't have anything to say on the last question. I don't want to spend
at least 1/2 an hour on the phone waiting about this other problem.

BTW, they are networked to an ethernet network via DaynaPort's SCSI/Link
adapter.
