I agree with you on that. The selection of Macintosh computers for
schools seems to be getting smaller and smaller and those that schools are
allowed to buy are also those which seem to be causing the most problems
-- such as the screen problem for the 5200 which I am still dealing with.
I would prefer some of the older machines as well -- especially those that
have a separate monitor and computer that I could carry in myself in case
of problems. As far as the performance on the PowerPC's, I would
appreciate being able to buy even an LCIII that would not give me the
problems that I am having now.
My dealer, with whom I do a lot of business, told me that he cannot sell
me any hardware from Apple either. Apparently Apple will not sell
anything in the Performa line to educational institutions.
