When reinstalling MacTCP did he first remove (not reset) *all* MacTCP and PPP
files? There are a number of MacTCP and PPP files scattered throughout the
System folder. I had this problem last year and was only able to resolve it
when I trashed *everything* related to MacTCP and PPP and then started anew.
