I really hate to get into this debate but it always makes my blood boil to
read comments like that. What does mrket share have to do with it? How many
people in the work place really know anything about the operating systems and
have to do their own installations and disk management to any great extent?
Decisions should not necessarily be hardware driven but rather application
based. I worked in an environment where we all used Microsoft Office - some
on PCs some on Macs and we were all perfectly compatible. Most reputable
software developers for business productivity applications are writing their
software for both platforms so the hardware issue is irrelevant. Now support
costs are another thing. I know that supporting a Macintosh environment is
far cheaper than supporting a PC only environment.
