For a while, at our new computer lab, we also had lots of static electricity.
The main source was the carpeting in the lab. Since our lab was networked, we
did seem to have periodic freezes which were probably due to the static
electricity zapping the cabling. Anyways, the point that I wanted to mention is
that the terminator on thin net coaxial cableing has a small chain on it. That
chain is suppose to be grounded to a screw, at least on one end of the
cableing. That might help reduce the problems, if you are running a network.
