"Learning DOS Vers 5 & 6" from DDC Publishing(800-528-3897) is a highly
recommended text. I have used this text at the secondary level.

Lessons are broken down into a series of short, task oriented, step-by-step
exercises. Practice exercises at the end of each lesson review and repeat
the concepts covered in the lesson. Each lesson concludes with a series of
reinforcing worksheets which review DOS terms, concepts and commands.
Appendices at the end of the text provide the solutions. The text
includes a student data disk that contains all the data necessary to complete
each lesson. This method saves the many headaches of a compromised HD
on the workstation.

Lesson 1 - Getting Started ======> Good introduction to PC and DOS OS
Lesson 2 - Exploring Directories
Lesson 3 - Frequently used DOS commands
Lesson 4 - Other useful DOS cmds(Help,chkdsk,dir/s,Fn keys,date,time,vol)
Lesson 5 - Organizing files
Lesson 6 - DOS Editor
Lesson 7 - Automating DOS(batch files and commands)
Lesson 8 - DOS Shell
This is DOS only - NO Windows is taught. This is the kind of stuff that
really gets them ready to understand Windows and File Manager.
DDC has similar texts for teaching Windows 3.xx and WIN95 concepts.
