Disband high school computer labs - I sure as hell hope not!

I have seen to much equipment make its way to the teachers classroom and
then sit idle while other teachers are waiting with no access. I would much
prefer the lab environment where teachers sign-up for usage. BUT, that
means the school must provide an up-to-date computer lab designed for large
group(15-25) instruction. Other workstations can be made available as
mobile computing environments that also need to be scheduled in advance.
Some would argue that the cost of computer technology is becoming so
cheap that every classroom can have 4 or 5 or more workstations. Well,
I guess I'm from the old school that still would like to see our tax dollars
spent and used as wisely as possible. It really disgusts me when I see
equipment sit idle(that includes football fields also).
My apologies for pulling out my soapbox.
