POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

INSTRUCTIONAL PUBLICATIONS SUPERVISOR

The Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is seeking
qualified applicants for the position of INSTRUCTIONAL PUBLICATIONS SUPERVISOR.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work as an effective
manager,coordinating the instructional design and editing process, a graphics
department, and a four-color printing operation engaged in producing student
texts and other learning material.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate the production of printed student materials from concept to finished
product. Supervise staff of six to ten people. Work with instructor/authors to
create well-designed instructional materials. Manage the editing and graphics
design department, work with print shop staff to set up and operate a
high-quality printing and binding operation.

QUALIFICATIONS
Strong supervisory and communications skills are required. A high level of
computer literacy is required. Relevant experience in desktop publishing,
graphics design, and printing press operations are all desirable.
Thorough knowledge of instructional design is required. Experience
in one or more relevant content areas (ESL,Engineering, Math, Business)
helpful but not required. A graduate degree in Instructional Design,
Media Production or related field is required, along with at
least 2 years of supervisory experience in instructional media production.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Higher Colleges of Technology provides the chance to work with the latest
equipment and a diverse multi-national staff. English is the language of
instruction and the workplace - knowledge of Arabic is not required. The United
Arab Emirates offers a high standard of living, modern convenience and many

COMPENSATION
40-50,000 US dollars per year - the UAE government levies no income tax. Free
unfurnished accommodation and generous furniture allowance are provided. 56
days annual leave, with round trip travel tickets to country of origin
provided for employee and dependents. Educational assistance and other
benefits. Contracts are for three years, renewable on mutual agreement.
