Assuming that the program is, in fact, returning the correct
error number (and in this case, it is probably correct) then
it indicates that you have a corrupt file associated with
Netscape Navigator.
Here is what I'd do: Go into the SYSTEM/PREFERENCES/NETSCAPE
folder. Drag the file called "Netscape Preferences" into the
trash, then restart Netscape Navigator and reset all your
preferences. This allows Netscape to create the file properly
from scratch. (If you have never received any EMail, then also
throw out the "Mail" folder you find in there.)
You might also consider running MacTools Disk Fix or Norton
to see if you have any other files that are corrupt.
( For the technically inclined, error -39 usually indicates
that the file has an unanticipated ending - that it is shorter
than it should be or has a corrupt file terminator. )
