Actually, American Airlines seems to have the answer to your problem.
Just recently my husband flew back from Louisiana to Sky Harbor in
Phoenix. When he opened his suitcase that he had checked, he found that
the American Airlines security had the exact same problem with a zip
drive that you are having right now. They solved the problem by using
pliers to extract the disk. Well, the only problem is that they destroyed
the drive. However, the disk is fine. :) Actually, they reimbursed us and
apologized, but it's a neat story, huh? What do you think they thought they
would find out by ripping that disk out of our drive???? HMMMMMMMM...
