Kathy, point your browser to http://www.zdnet.com/macuser/ then go to
their archieves from which you can run a search for "camera". The search
will pull up a large list of on-line articles and reviews on the subject
from both MacUser and MacWeek.
You could also similarily search MacWorld magazine archieves at
http://www.macworld.com
We use an Apple QuickTake 150 at our school. It does a good job for the
money, and is quite adequate for multimedia and educational reports &
projects, but it definately isn't 35 mm quality, although the "Photoflash"
software included with the QuickTake helps alot with "cleaning up" the
pictures and is simple to use. We also use Photoshop to enhance the
photos.
A digital camera and a laptop is very convenient on field trips. Shoot
16 or 32 pics, download them to the laptop, and shoot some more. When you
get back to the school, students have their pictures, ready for importing
into their reports--no waiting for film development.
Whatever digital camera you get, I assure you, you and the students will
have a lot of fun with it!

Good luck.
