Re: Digitized cameras

I have used the Apple Quicktake 100 and 150, and have been disappointed
with the quality of the pictures even on the high quality setting. It's
not just the Apple camera either; as someone else said, these digital
cameras under a $1000 don't stack up with their more expensive
counterparts. I have obtained very good quality scanning pictures with a
decent scanner, not an expensive one.

However, if you're doing a presentation or kids are doing class projects,
you should go ahead and use a digital camera. It's instantaneous, or very
near so. Sure, it takes a few steps to upload the pictures and save them
to pict files to import to HyperStudio, but no more than 15 minutes.
That's SIGNIFICANTLY faster than having them developed.

If you need HQ pictures for a web page and you want it to be around awhile,
I would consider taking snapshots, developing, and then scanning them.
