Problem solved. This only happened when I had the 5400 connected to a
LocalTalk network- not ethernet. My MacIP goes through a TribeStar to
strip the IP out of AppleTalk (IP gateway). Tribe had a ROM upgrade for
the TribeStar, and that solved the problem. The upgrade was posted to
their FTP site on July 31!
