In our district, we've standardized on IBM Thinkpads for administrative
and Loaner use - they all will work with the same Docking Station /
Port Replicators, the warranty is good, the service has been excellent.
We currently have around 20 machines in use, and people have generally
been very happy with them - the pricing is improving, as well.
Some of them were purchased through IBM's "factory outlet", where we
could get better pricing on some slightly older (but still 486/33 at
least) Thinkpads. These have worked out just fine - the warranty is
the same!
If you have any specific questions, let me know!
